Timeline of Events in GML history
- 1991 General Marine Leasing was established entering into the offshore work force accommodations market.
- 1995 General Marine Leasing built the first United States Coast Approved Sleeper
- 1996 General Marine Leasing was awarded and completed its first deepwater offshore project-Shell Mars Project.
- 1997 General Marine Leasing begins engineering and fabricating smaller more versatile portable workforce accommodation units such as the 10' x 32' 10' x 24' sized units.
- 1999 Initiated its first emergency response, building Disney's Castaway Bay, in the Bahamas after Hurricane Floyd.
- 2001 GML provided emergency response members with portable work force accommodations in Arkansas after the Arkansas Ice Storms.
- General Marine Leasing was acquired by Oil States International, becoming one of the seven subsidiaries now
- 2002 General Marine Leasing began fabrication activities and added dock facilities. Successfully completed the Horn Mountain Project and lifted a single point lift of more than 302 tons.
Facility Location description and capabilities
General Marine Leasing has over 40 years of experience in designing and fabricating portable and land based buildings for offshore services on platforms, drilling rigs, vessels and jack up boats. General Marine Leasing has been working closely with ABS/USCG over last ten years on designing and building buildings to meet all the codes and regulations for US and international waters.
Indoor Fabrication Facility
The General Marine Leasing design and fabrication facility located at 2317 Engineers Road Belle Chasse, LA 70037 provides a conventiently located 300 ft bulk head on the Intracoastal Canal water system that connects directly to the Mississippi River.
300 Ft. Dock Facility
General Marine Leasing can be accessed via Highway 23/Belle Chasse Highway and Peters Road which both connect with Highway 90/Westbank Expressway and LA I-10.
Louis Armstrong International Airport is located at 800 Airline Drive Kenner, LA 70062 at an approximate distance of 26 miles and provides both domestic and international flights and shipping.
